The second drop of 6 sub-collections of The Mango House Collection. Long story short, Lexi bought a home + named it Mango. We have collaborated with her to design a wallpaper collection that reflects the theme of Mango's unique rooms. Inspired by the beautiful flavors, stories + memories shared in the kitchen, this sub-collection is full of classic striped patterns sprinkled with a fun + fruity garnish.
What inspired the kitchen wallpaper collection?
I would say my love for a good meal! I’ve always loved being in the kitchen. I call it my second home. I love to cook, snack, and bake. Considering I spend at least a few hours there everyday, I realized how badly I wanted to create a space I could truly enjoy. A space filled with color and things that make me happy, like fruits and donuts. I hope this collection can encourage you to make your cooking space a fun one!
We see you cheffin’ it up. What is your go-to snack in January?
I just discovered date bark and it has changed my life. All you need are some juicy medjool dates, almond butter and some chocolate chips. Press the dates down
on a baking sheet until they’re flattened, melt some almond butter and layer it on top. Next, melt your chocolate chips (I always go for dark!) and layer that on top of the butter and dates. Throw on some flaky salt. Freeze overnight...and boom your life will change. My favorite sweet treat that my body loves and appreciates too.
Everyone seems to be obsessed with your blue fridge. Is there a story behind it?
The blue fridge is what started Mango in the first place. I have been dreaming of aS meg fridge for longer than I can even remember. All I ever wanted was somewhere to put a light blue Smeg fridge. My space was never big enough to have one on my own so the moment we decided to buy Mango, I knew this would be her chance. From that point on, everything designed in Mango was based all around that light blue Smeg fridge. Personally, I still think it’s the greatest thing in the world- aside from this wallpaper of course.
What does the word “kitchen” mean to you?
Love, joy, new experiences, energy, passion, play and a whole world of words in between. My kitchen means the world to me. It combines so many of the things I love in one place. I love creating; and cooking is such a beautiful way to do so. I love experimenting and trying new foods so testing new recipes is the best way to do that. I LOVE food! I’ve been a foodie my whole life so that’s an obvious win. And most importantly, I love sharing the things I make with the people I love. Whether it’s me and my boyfriend, me and my best friend or my family and I - the kitchen is our favorite place to spend time.
